If you have been reading my blog regularly then you probably know by now that summer is my favorite season. Since I started my blog, I always look forward to this season because I can make tons of refreshing recipes. One of which are mojitos, which I customized by making a Virgin Passion Fruit Mojito.

Traditionally, mojitos are made with soda water/club soda, lime juice, white rum, sugar, ice and of course mint leaves. However, in this recipe we are kicking out the white rum and adding passion fruit juice to it. It still just as amazing.

I’m that type of person that prefers virgin cocktails over regular cocktails. Not only because I am Christian but because I don’t see the need to consume it. However, from time to time I would indulge in the classic adult beverage. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of those occasions.

The reason why I decided to make this a virgin mojito is simple because of diversity. What I mean is I wanted to switch things up a little. There are tons of regular mojito recipes and not as many virgin mojitos nor virgin variations.

TIPS & TRICKS:
  • Alcohol or no alcohol: I am not limiting anyone to just the virgin version. But you must try it without the alcohol first. Of course, if you are looking for a kick then you can definitely add 2 oz of white rum.
  • Passion fruit juice: Any brand of passion fruit juice will work, but use a 100% passion fruit. The recipe will not be the same if you use a passion fruit juice that is mixed with something else. Be sure to use it cold, it helps a lot especially if you are drinking it right away.
  • Sugar: I prefer to use brown sugar, some people may argue against that. Although, there is no rule to the type of sugar you have to use I suggest brown sugar. I love sipping my mojito with little bits of sugar in the midst. And this doesn’t make it too sweet.
  • Mint: Fresh is the only way to go. That is all I have to say.

I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Now, let’s get into it.
