Jamaican Style Peanut Porridge

This Jamaican style peanut porridge recipe is a great way to start your day. It will leave you feeling full and licking your fingers.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Roasted peanuts removed from the shell
  • 1 cup Instant oats 1
  • 1/2 cup Whole milk
  • 1/4 cup Condensed milk
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Almond essence
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh or ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Ground allspice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Add the roasted peanuts, instant oats and 1 cup of water to a blender.
  • Blend until it smooth. It will be thick.
  • Place a medium pot over medium heat, add 2 cups of water and the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil.
  • Stir in the blended peanuts and oats, then add the whole milk, almond essence, condensed milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla extract and salt. Stir everything.
  • Let it cook for 15-20 minutes, making sure to stir constantly.
