A good pork steak salad recipe is the perfect dinner idea for those nights when you want something light but hearty.

A good steak makes me happy. There are many things in this world that makes me happy but steak makes me extremely happy. This pork steak salad recipe made me extremely happy and I hope it will make you feel the same way.

I know I said happy about 50 times but that is how I felt after I ate this pork steak salad. It was light but still hearty. What I mean by hearty is that I felt like I had a good dinner without feeling stuffed. If you ever want to eat something light but filling for dinner this is the way to go.

I am not a huge salad eater but I do eat it from time to time. I don’t always find salads fulling but this one beat the odds. I know there are many ways to make a steak salad but this is a quick yet tasty one. I’m not saying that it is the best but I am saying that it might just be able to compete for the position.

I decided to use pork steaks instead of regular beef steaks because I just wanted to switch things up a bit. I honestly feel like pork steaks are underrated, I can’t find many recipes mentioning pork steaks that often. But I feel we should give them a try, I know they aren’t as heavenly but they can be just as heavenly as a regular beef steak.

One last thing I need to mention is the way you cook this steak. I want to believe that I found the semi-perfect way to cook my steak in a pan.

I used olive oil and butter as well as garlic to cook my steaks. And let me tell you, my life has changed and it will never be the same ever again. It was so tender and it literally melted in my mouth. You know, I would hear people say that their steaks melted in their mouth with they ate it and I would never understand until I experienced it. It was life changing and I can’t go back.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Let’s get into it.

Pork Steak Salad

Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

Salad:

  • Lettuce of choice washed and chopped
  • 1 Cuccumber sliced
  • 1 Avocado sliced
  • 1 cup Creamy Red Wine Vinegar link in the recipe notes

Croutons:

  • 4-6 slices Bread cut into squares (I used whole wheat)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsps Dried thyme
  • 2 tsps Dried parsley
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Pork steak:

  • 1 lb Pork steak
  • 2 Garlic cloves mashed
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsps Butter
  • 2 tsps Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Croutons:

  • Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F.
  • In a mixing bowl add the bread, olive oil, dried thyme, salt, dried parsley, garlic powder and black pepper. Mix all of them together then place on a baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Pork steak:

  • In a small bowl mix all the spices together: paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Coat the steaks on each sides with the mix.
  • Place a frying pan over medium heat and add the butter. Once the butter has melted add the olive oil and the garlic. When you start to smell the aroma from the garlic add the steak to the pan.
  • How long you cook your steak depends on your preference. I cooked mines for about 7-10 minutes on each sides and until all the blood dried up. When they were done I removed them from the pan and let them cool before slicing them into stripes.

Salad:

  • In a salad bowl add the lettuce, sliced avocados, cucumbers, croutons and the creamy red vinegar dressing. Toss them all together.
  • On a plate add your salad and steak and drizzle some dressing on top. Enjoy!
