Caribbean Boiled Cassava Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 & 1/2 cups All-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 & 1/4 cups Grated cassava
  • 1/2 cup Water at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Butter at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, salt and sugar together.
  • Add the butter and cassava, mix everything together.
  • Gradually knead in the water.
  • Knead on a floured surface for at least 1 minute. The dough should be slightly sticky.
  • Divide the dough into 16 equal balls. Take each ball and flatten in the palm of your hands. Set aside.
  • Place each dumpling in a pot of boiling water that has been salted. Boil for 10-15 minutes. The dumplings should float to the top when it is done.
